MIXED MEDIUM #2: Lap Up the Limelight!

We’re lapping up another Cadmium Yellow spread, this week, as PASPals continue to go for the gold!

Love and Relationships:

Silence, as they say, may be golden, but it never got anybody a text back. Take after the Knight of Wands and ride your pony into somebody’s DM’s. Actions based on fearlessness and impulsivity are encouraged here, but be sure to make your choices based on personal philosophies and ideals, or you’ll be up the creek without a... wand. Don’t compromise yourself!

In friendship, open yourself to making connections with people of older standing. This may be in terms of physical age, but is likely to manifest more so in people with a longevity of experience or skillset, from whom you can learn much from. Inherit your legacy, this week, by connecting on manual and intellectual levels with the more experienced in your life circles. A reward for expanding your skillset in this fashion may be forthcoming.

Personal Growth:

The Queen of Wands and her suit dominate the spread this week, and encourage movement and action in all respects. As she is the natural leader and instinctual mother figure of the Wands, the time has come for you to recognise the respect many have for you across many facets of your life, and adopt the leadership role others have been waiting for you to claim as your own.

In doing so, be careful not to lose sight of the team mentality that have got you to where you are. Co-operation is the key to keeping your cookie from crumbling. By taking on this mantle, however, your confidence will open the door to keener intuitions, which will aid you in responding to the needs of those who look up to your character and sense of leadership.

Adopting the role of the influencer and inheriting your legacy may not be a totally comfortable transition, as the Nine of Wands warns you may be required to do so after being backed into a corner. This shouldn’t throw you for a loop, however, as this simply means you may first be required to confront a challenge or be on the defence, before you can feel confident in becoming a leader. Be ready to show resilience.

Artistic Practice:

If we at the PASTEL Institute of Easy, Breezy, Beautiful Wellness were you, we’d be taking after the summer hues of this week’s spread and turning out something with a lil’ sparkle. This week is also a great one to get referential – find new icons, learn their stories, and slide a sliver of their essence into your own work. Every piece is a portmanteau of a thousand pre-existing texts; respect the giants and take after the titans of the art world you admire by paying homage to their hard labour.

Colour of the Week: All that glitters is.... Green!

While the visual trend alert for the week certainly goes to yellow, do note it is often paired with green in this spread. While yellow and gold are typically associated with creativity, clarity and positivity, green is the hue of adventure, growth and sentimentality. Wear the emerald capes of those who’ve come before you, this week. Follow that green light over the water!
